Rifle Shooting

This program is conducted under the supervision of NRA-certified range safety personnel. Participants use beginner-friendly Ruger 10/22 rifles, widely used in youth shooting programs, including Scouting. The rifles have relatively low recoil and noise. Participants practice safe target shooting at various distances while learning proper range procedures and responsible firearm handling.

Hiking

Mount Major, Alton, NH — A scenic hike with beautiful views overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee, one of New Hampshire’s largest lakes. Lincoln Woods Trail, Lincoln, NH — Once used as a logging railroad route, this historic trail now offers an enjoyable walk through the woods. Along the way, participants can enjoy streams, small waterfalls, and the refreshing mountain environment.

Ice Skating

Ice skating is one of the highlights of our summer camp program. Participants enjoy approximately two hours of skating with friends at the Tri-City Arena, located about 15 minutes from camp. The cool indoor rink provides a refreshing break from the summer heat.

Beach Day

Participants spend a fun and relaxing day at Hampton Beach on the Atlantic coast, about 40 minutes from camp. Activities may include sunbathing, building sandcastles, playing in the waves, collecting seashells, and simply enjoying the beauty of the ocean.

Camping & Dutch Oven Cooking

Participants learn how to prepare a variety of snacks and meals using a Dutch oven. Heated charcoal briquettes are placed above and below the Dutch oven to create an oven-like cooking environment. Preparing and sharing food outdoors with friends provides a hands-on and memorable learning experience.

Scouting Activities

Our Scouting activities bring youth and adult leaders together to develop healthy, responsible, and confident young people. The program encourages participants to become physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight, while learning the value of service, teamwork, responsibility, and helping others.

Cycling

Tower Hill Lake — A peaceful cycling route around the lake, surrounded by beautiful woods and natural scenery. The trail includes some gentle hills but is generally suitable for beginners, with a five-kilometer route that provides a manageable challenge. Massabesic Lake — A mountain biking route around the lake and through wooded areas. This course provides a greater challenge for participants who already have some cycling experience.

Korean Traditional Archery

Participants experience the unique tradition of Korean archery using a modernized version of the traditional Korean bow. It offers a very different experience from Western-style archery. Participants begin at shorter distances and gradually move farther back as their skills and confidence improve.

Water Activities & Swimming

Participants enjoy outdoor water activities on the Merrimack River. Activities may include swimming, paddleboarding, raft-building, and other supervised water-based recreation. These activities offer participants a fun and adventurous way to enjoy the outdoors while developing confidence around the water.

Nighttime Outdoor Activities

Participants spend time under the night sky identifying stars and constellations and may use a telescope for closer observation. They can also experience sleeping outdoors in individual hammocks equipped with mosquito netting. A nearby campfire adds warmth and atmosphere, making a night in the woods a memorable outdoor experience.

Mackerel Fishing Trip

Participants travel by charter boat from Hampton Beach into the Atlantic Ocean for a mackerel fishing adventure. With assistance from the boat crew, participants can safely enjoy fishing together with friends while experiencing the open ocean.

Pioneering & Outdoor Skills

Participants learn traditional outdoor skills such as working with wood, rope, basic camp tools, fire-building, and outdoor cooking. Activities may include building simple camp furniture, preparing pancakes over a fire, collecting and preparing firewood, and learning the safe use of knives, axes, and saws.
